In today's global economy, women's entrepreneurship plays a crucial role in driving economic growth, innovation, and job creation. Despite the progress made in recent years, women in Arab Mediterranean countries still face significant challenges in starting and growing their businesses. The WEntre project, funded by the EU, aims to support Vocational Education and Training (VET) providers in these countries to empower women to become successful entrepreneurs.

The WEntre project focuses on developing educational programs that are based on foundational competences, drawing upon established frameworks such as the Entrepreneurship Competence Framework (ERF), ENTRECOMP, and UN Women Values & Competences Framework. By equipping women with these essential skills and knowledge, the program aims to enhance their entrepreneurial capabilities, increase their employment opportunities, and ultimately reduce gender inequality in the region. One of the key objectives of the WEntre project is to build the capacity of VET institutions in Egypt through the implementation of comprehensive VET Programme cycles. By fostering a collaborative approach that involves co-design, co-development, co-delivery, co-evaluation, and co-validation of skills and competencies, the project ensures that the educational programs are tailored to the specific needs and aspirations of women entrepreneurs in the region. By addressing the unique challenges faced by women in Arab Mediterranean countries, particularly in the context of entrepreneurship, the WEntre project aims to make a meaningful impact on youth employment and employability. By providing women with the necessary tools, resources, and support networks, the project seeks to create a conducive environment for female entrepreneurship to thrive and contribute to the overall economic development of the region. In conclusion, the WEntre project represents a significant step towards enhancing female entrepreneurship in Arab Mediterranean countries. By empowering women with the knowledge, skills, and opportunities to succeed as entrepreneurs, the project not only benefits individual women but also contributes to the economic growth and social development of the entire region. Through its focus on increasing awareness, attracting funding, and showcasing project progress, the WEntre project is poised to make a lasting impact on the lives of women entrepreneurs in the Arab Mediterranean countries.
